Email Marketing
Absolutely, it is what it sounds like. Emails sent to a list of subscribers with the sole intention of marketing something, even though excellent email campaigns should also give a lot of value and focus on developing a relationship with the list.
So as a copywriter, you can add all of these to your list of services. Depending on your client’s demands, they can ask you for various types of emails like autoresponders, an indoctrination sequence, sales emails, content emails, affiliate emails, or re-engagement emails…
However, your only duty as a copywriter is to WRITE these emails. If you DON’T WANT TO, someone else can load these emails into your client’s email sending program. Because it’s time-consuming and technical, and because you never want to be the one who actually sends an email draft to the entire list, I have never suggested this to a customer.
Landing Pages
Similar to a sales page, but much shorter, and used mostly for lead generation. Therefore, if the main goal of an advertisement is to get people to click, the main goal of a landing page is to get more people to click and become leads. A lead magnet, also known as a “Free High-Value Promise,” is what you offer in exchange for a prospect’s information (usually their first name and email).
Sales Pages
The Big One, too. I prefer to refer to this as your moneymaker. because not only is this the page that will generate the most revenue and profits for your clients’ businesses, but…
But it’s YOU who will be paid the most to compose that page!
Persuasion, psychology, and significant writing swagger all play a part in the copywriting magic required to convert prospects into paying clients.
Home Pages & Website Copy
This is what I mean when I talk about authority copy or branding copy! On your primary homepage, conversions are still crucial, but your brand message is everything. People will initially view your home page when they visit your website, therefore you need to provide a good first impression. A Homepage’s simple objectives are to foster trust, establish authority, and provide next steps.
About Pages
Well-written About Pages are a wonderful way to showcase a brand’s history, vision, mission, philosophy, and what sets them apart as customers increasingly look for products, coaches, and companies that reflect their values.
If a client doesn’t already have a about page, you can offer this service to them OR offer to remodel any about pages that are uninspired and uninteresting.
In case you were curious, the copywriter’s role is to only create these pages (as with landing pages, sales pages, and websites), not to actually BUILD them.
Promotional Videos & Video Sales Letters
Remember what I’ve been saying to you guys repeatedly? THE FUTURE IS IN VIDEO!
In fact, 87% of marketers who use video claim that it increases their return on investment. Therefore, it is safe to say… yes. The future of marketing is definitely video! Says the gal who spends HOURS each week creating video material.
Promotional videos are used to advertise a certain marketing campaign, occasion, or item. Typically, they are succinct, pleasant, and direct. Titles, subtitles, any copy utilized as visual cues throughout the film, and of course the script are all included in the copy portion of promotional videos.
And while copy is only PART of what makes a successful promotional video, it’s crucial to keep in mind that up to 85% of Facebook videos are viewed without sound. Therefore, optimizing the copy in your video subtitles is crucial to increasing conversions.
VSLs, or video sales letters, are yet another form of video marketing that calls for copywriting expertise. Video sales letters are comparable to written sales letters, with the exception that they consist of scripts as opposed to written pages.
The copywriter’s role is to just WRITE the video scripts and supporting content; you do not actually make the films.
2. Content Writing
You’ll discover that a LOT of companies will ask you to generate some content for them as a professional copywriter.
You can and should exercise your own judgment when deciding whether to offer content writing to your clients, just as you can when selecting your copywriting services.
While the skill of word-crafting for the express aim of conversion is known as copywriting… More emphasis is placed on interaction, education, and brand knowledge in content writing.
There are a number of different types of content writing that you can choose to offer as a service, but I’m only going to go through the top 5 because they will be the most useful to your clients.
Social Media Captions
These days, social media plays a HUGE role in most brands’ and companies’ marketing strategy, and if it doesn’t, it most surely should.
Considering that the bulk of people spend their daily time on social media.
More than 3.6 billion individuals use social media worldwide… and by the year 2025, that figure is projected to rise to 4.4 billion.
Blog Posts
Come on, everybody is aware of the power of blogging. One of the best ways to rank in Google searches and improve your SEO is through blogs. But the reality is that most busy business owners just don’t have the time (or the energy) to consistently publish blog content.
And that’s where YOU come in to help out by volunteering your services. You could, at the very least, publish one blog post each week, and then naturally build on that.
Newsletters
These are the emails that are sent out to a list of subscribers on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. The goal is to establish rapport, trust, and credibility rather than outright sell or promote something. The most crucial step is to FORGE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY.
Customers don’t stick around with businesses that they don’t feel emotionally linked to in this day and age, that much is true. Therefore, if your clients aren’t currently sending out regular, informative newsletters to their email list, they are losing out on a great chance to build a strong fan base. And guess who can help them with that?
SEO
Alternatively known as SEO. In essence, SEO aims to increase your website’s visibility by helping it rank higher in search results.
3. Marketing Support
You could want to think about providing marketing services to your clients as well if you REALLY want to bolster your bundles (and the money pouring in).
Giving your clients additional marketing assistance might make you indispensable to them because they are essentially hiring a unicorn—someone who can write, strategize, and execute.
Of course, there are a ton of services you might provide under this heading… But let’s stick to the fundamental three, into which most copywriters could naturally move.
Community Management
Writing for business primarily entails interacting with readers, subscribers, and clients via email, membership sites, and social media. so if you’re trying to break into a company whose brand you’d LOVE to write copy for, why not offer community management as a service to highlight your writing skills?
Funnel-Building
You can add funnel-building to your list of services if you have a more technical bent and are familiar with web platforms like GrooveFunnels, ClickFunnels, Kajabi, or others. In essence, you are using this to CREATE the pages and sales funnels that you are producing. Your clients won’t have to spend hours doing it themselves or hiring someone else thanks to this incredibly helpful service.
