1: Brands Prioritize LinkedIn and TikTok
Although I’m personally disappointed with what occurred to Twitter in the second half of 2022 because that’s where I’ve had my biggest, most engaged audience, I believe these changes will continue to prompt advertisers to reflect and reevaluate their strategies in 2023.
The developments at Twitter have clearly put many brands’ declared principles, missions, and purposes at odds. There will undoubtedly be a large number of customers who are interested in how their favorite brands demonstrate their dedication to those ideals. It will be interesting to observe if companies decide to stop using Twitter totally or reduce their spending on advertising in 2023. I’m sure I won’t be the only one watching to see who is steadfast in their choices.
Let’s face it: Twitter could easily turn into a very substantial time-suck for those of us who were avid users. There will undoubtedly be some fascinating new developments for social media marketers in 2023, whether users completely stop using the network, cut back on their ad expenditure, or even just decrease their organic activity. I’m interested to see which businesses and marketers unearth chances for audience and brand growth on other channels that have previously been missed, devalued, and discounted.
This means that many marketers will be investing more money and focusing more attention on the channels that were previously neglected in favor of Twitter and Facebook. I wouldn’t be shocked if many businesses and marketers increased their current efforts on LinkedIn and TikTok in the coming year. However, other businesses will seize this chance to adopt “existing but new to them” channels they weren’t utilizing at all while Twitter was at its most effective. Platforms like Reddit, Twitch, Mastodon, and Discord, for instance, will likely receive funding and new attention.
